Joe opened his original store in 1986 and is a foundation tenant of QVB. Over that time, Joe has extended his passion for designing clothes to handpicking outfits for his clients, and he has dressed many famous clients including Sir Elton John, Sir Cliff Richard, George Benson, and Stephen Fry, to name just a few.
Joe always described his menswear collection as “enhancing character and complementing to your individual style”. Joe Bananas presents choices of colour and texture and alternatives in relaxed styling and cut. His clothes are casual, yet elegant and the fabric designs have a vigour and structure that express personality. Sadly in December 2012, Joe passed away and will be fondly remembered .To ensure his legacy continued, he appointed his trusted proteges, Kim Bourke and Evan Sturrock to become the new Joe Bananas.
