Laura Mercier

Laura Mercier, the pioneer of the “Flawless Face”, is a world-renowned makeup artist and creator of Laura Mercier Cosmetics, Skincare, Body & Bath and Fragrance. Laura is the innovative force behind the brand’s iconic products, French aesthetic, artistry techniques and “House of Flawless”. She continues to teach and inspire through her philosophy; “What makes you unique makes you beautiful.”

A PAINTER’S EYE

Raised in Provence, Laura began her training at age 17 when she entered painting school in Paris. After deciding to shift her talents from the canvas to the face, Laura attended the prestigious Carita Beauty School where she specialized in skincare and makeup application. Subsequently she represented Carita as a makeup artist and teacher, working closely with renowned makeup artist Thibault Vabre.

In 1985, Laura moved to New York to launch American Elle and also worked for magazines such as Allure, Vanity Fair, Glamour, W and InStyle. Her reputation spread quickly and she was sought after by some of the biggest names in fashion and beauty, developing relationships with the most influential photographers in the industry, such as Steven Meisel and Patrick Demarchelier.

During that time, Laura was a sought after Celebrity Makeup Artist. She worked with Madonna, Celine Dion, Sarah Jessica Parker, Julia Roberts and Juliette Binoche, as she continued to contribute frequently to high profile fashion and beauty magazines.

In 1996, Laura Mercier Cosmetics was launched, grounded in Laura’s philosophy to create a naturally flawless complexion. The line is designed to benefit women of all ages and skin types. Through her artisan lens, she personally creates the colours and products to satisfy the global needs of women today. The collection is now available in in 27 countries.

The Laura Mercier collection has received numerous accolades from customers and magazine editors. Her Tinted Moisturizer is repeatedly named in magazine ‘Best of Awards’ – InStyle 2016/2015 Best Beauty Buys included Tinted Moisturizer – Oil Free Foundation and Secret Camouflage. Silk Crème Moisturizing Photo Edition Foundation won the May 2016 CEW Beauty Insider Award. Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Tuxedo won the 2016, Allure, Best of Beauty Award. The iconic Translucent Loose Setting Powder won the Designer Buys 2016 Glamour Beauty Awards and the InStyle 2015 Best Beauty Buys. Laura’s Secret Camouflage Brush won the Allure, Best of Beauty 2016: Tools.

In addition, Laura has received numerous awards for her involvement in the campaigns on behalf of Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, Dolce & Gabbana, Versace, Valentino, and Alberta Ferretti, as well as her cover designs for Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Marie Claire and Allure, for her cosmetics. In addition to Madonna, Celine Dion, Sarah Jessica Parker, Julia Roberts and Juliette Binoche Laura’s clients include Susan Sarandon, Isabella Rosellini, Brooke Shields, Ellen Barkin, Meg Ryan, Ashley Judd, Meryl Streep and Julia Ormond. Laura divides her time between New York City and Paris.
