Painted Folded Washed 2015

Drawing inspiration from the leather and the ways it can be altered, andrew mcdonald’s new collection is a celebration of the Subtle and unique patinas created when leathers are exposed to the elements.

By Taking advantage of natural reactions like rust from Iron filings and The distressed, scrunched paper effect of washing the shoes and bags in water, a patina of age and wear is created.
The paint on the whitewashed shoes fades and ages as it would on a derelict building. Uniquely and quietly.
The folds in the leather wallet inspired by folded paper crease and continue to furrow with use taking on a new form.
With time, Each bag, pair of shoes or wallet will evolve and become truly unique, an individual.

Combining Leathers from America and Italy with hand made bronze buckles and metal details from Japan the new Andrew Mcdonald collection is a minimal yet raw range of shoes and bags for men and women who value subtle, well crafted style.

For footwear made to order a series of three fittings is
typically neccessary.

Each fitting takes approximately 20 minutes.

Style Selection , Measurements and Quote

At your first fitting it is advisable to bring along a much loved /worn pair of shoes for a fitting assessement, a colour swatch to match your leather and an idea, photo and or illustration of the shoe you would like made.
At this fitting you will be given a quote based on a combination of the style , measurements and materials. You will be required to make a 50% deposit of the quoted value of your order.

The Pullover Fitting

At this fitting stage a test shoe is made, so we can adjust the fit and style on the foot.

The Final Fitting

The third and final fitting examines the finer details of fit and appearance. At this stage your shoes are complete and ready for you to wear
