Originally Willunga butcher’s shop built in the 1860s, our cellar door still retains its local slate flooring and limestone walls. We share this space with cool café/providore next door, 3 Monkeys. So, the designated driver can have a cafe latte while you indulge in either the sunny courtyard out back, by the fireplace in winter, or you repair to our replete cellar.

A very intimate space, we can only serve up to 14 people at anytime. Please contact us prior for a booking if you have a group of 6 or more.

We offer wine tasting, gourmet burgers or cheese platters, so sit back and relax with our wines by the glass after grazing at the Farmers Market, perusing the local shops, or a bike ride up the famous old Willunga Hill.

Hither & Yon Cellar Door
17 High Street
Willunga, South Australia 5172

We are open 7 days per week, 11am to 4pm. For all other times, private or group tastings, private vineyard tours and functions, please contact us to make an appointment.the Leasks are of undoubted Scottish descent. That said, we also live by our clan’s motto—by virtue I grow—as exemplified by our parents. In the 1970s, they moved from the Hunter Valley in NSW to McLaren Vale, where Dad unearthed these disparate parcels of fertile land languishing. Here, by virtue, he grew the family’s vineyards and wine business from scratch while Mum juggled the handful of looking after us, running the vineyard office and vintage bookings on her own.

It’s probably not surprising then that one brother (Richard) would grow up to become a vigneron, gaining experience across the breadth of Australia’s wine regions, developing/managing vineyards, and implementing sustainable farming programs. The other (Malcolm) traveled and worked extensively

in the hospitality and retail trade in Australia and abroad, on the corporate and private side of the fence.

Together, we now nurture the vineyard and wine business, with great help and passion from all of the Leask family. Our aim with Hither & Yon is very simple: respect our family’s hard work and leave our land in an even better state for the next generation of Leask’s. The way to achieve that is by sustainable grape growing, with wines made essentially in our family vineyards by McLaren Vale’s amazing geology and maritime influence.

We hope you enjoy the journey with us by sharing our wine with food & friends, whether you’re at hearth & home or hither & yon.
