From the honesty of Faith to the majesty of Old Block, Shiraz forms the core of the St Hallett range. The famous St Hallett label, which features the paintings of artist Rod Shubert, sit just as comfortably at a backyard BBQ as they do in some of the world’s top fine dining restaurants. St Hallett was established in 1944 in an old slaughterhouse. Bill Lindner broke the family tradition of butchering to move into commercial winemaking. The family retired the horse-drawn cart which was used to deliver meat throughout the region and shifted its energy into growing grapes and making wine. The pre-wine heritage of the property was acknowledged on St Hallett’s 70th anniversary in 2014, with the release of the Butcher’s Cart Shiraz.
St Hallett Teaser ImageAs the palate of Australians evolved and table wine became an increasingly popular feature on dining room tables, the Barossa region became synonymous with high quality red wines. St Hallett was at the forefront of this evolution with the release of the Old Block Shiraz in 1980. It was one of the first wines to acknowledge the unique qualities of Barossa’s old vines.
Cellar Door: Open 7 days, 10am to 5pm
